Spooky Good Style: Creepy and Curious Charms

Staying in the Halloween spirit isn’t difficult when you can add a hint of spookiness to your ensemble with curious charms and jewelry. I’ve obtained my favorite jewelry online and I’ll share links below – but do not forget to hit up your local antique stores, oddity shops, and curiosity expos for some uniquely eerie accessories.

I’d like to share with you below some of my favorite creepy necklaces from my collection below:

Spooky Good Style: Gruss Vom Krampus

I love the folk legend of Krampus! I also love the 2015 Michael Dougherty film, “Krampus” which has become a Christmas tradition that my husband and I watch each year.

To honor my passion for the half-goat, half-demon who punishes naughty children (I mean, c’mon, does receiving coal really inspire a child to behave or does a goat demon do the trick? My vote is for the goat demon…) I ordered this vintage inspired Krampus shirt on Amazon!

Spooky Good Style: Murder Apparel

Where my true crime lovers at?! I have an online shop for you! The spooky cool people at Murder Apparel reached out to my on Instagram which led to my discovery of their scary awesome designs! I INSTANTLY fell in love with their SSDGM design (for folks who don’t know, that phrase was made popular by my favorite true crime comedy podcast, My Favorite Murder).

Becoming Beetlejuice

I love having reasons to dress up multiple times during the Halloween season. Last fall, I had reason for the multiple trips to Salem I took and this year I’ve dressed up for our Halloween party and the 4th annual Black Mold Halloween Bash. This event features Tulsa’s local bands playing cover sets and bands and attendees always dress up. I wanted to test my makeup skills and patience and transform into Beetlejuice just for the occasion (the lead singer of one of the bands was also Beetlejuice, a timeless and appropriate look for any Halloween occasion!).

Read below for some photos and inspiration for your own Beetlejuice look:

Becoming Ash Williams

I think I decided that I was going to be Ash Williams for Halloween this year sometime last year.ย  It’s not unusual for me to keep a running list of all of the characters I might want to transform into come Halloween. The idea hit me while watching the Ash VS Evil Dead series. I was enjoying it so much I decided I needed a piece of the Evil Dead universe myself and become the deadite-fighting-anti-hero: Ash!

Spooky Good Style: Creep in a T-Shirt

Creep (both 1 and 2) is one of my absolute favorite thriller movies.ย  There’s something so disturbing and perfect about this movie written and produced by Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass (I love Mark Duplass’s work – acting, his band, eveything!).

So it was a given that I would jump on the opportunity to promote and show off my favorite thriller in fashion form when Cavity Colors released their Creep line this fall!

Spooky Good Style: New Creepy Rags!

I feel like I’ve been representing fall in my wardrobe since the summer. A) Because I’m always cold and B) because I simply gravitate towards fall looks, colors and sweaters thus I do not have many more options.

I’ve received some messages and comments on my Instagram about where I found some of my new spooky rags along with this totally pumpkin orange loose knit sweater – so a blog post was warranted! Continue reading “Spooky Good Style: New Creepy Rags!”
